Spring 1997 Grant Awards

../funding/Adding%20Machine. 1. A Child’s Historical Study of Lafayette - $1,500

Teachers: 3rd grade teachers, all elementary schools and Mary McCosker, LSD

To develop and present to third grade students at all schools a classroom and field presentation of the history, artifacts, maps, geography and familiar sites of Lafayette. This is part of the 3rd grade Social Studies curriculum

2. Knowledge of Shakespeare - $1,900

Parent: Susie Thum for the Acalanes Shakespeare Company

To support a class and a theatre company at Acalanes, with a California Shakespeare Youth Program instructor, open to all students who are interested to instruct in all aspects of the Bard’s performances, (improvisation, combat, history, scansion, period dance, dress, music voice and interpretation). One performance in Mat at the Town Hall.

3. ANCAD Large Format Color Printer - $5,000

Teachers: Sheryl Disher & Kyle Wood, Acalanes

To provide an incredible color printer for use by the whole community as part of the graphic arts program and to help to rebuild this program at Acalanes. It is usable with the computers now located all over the campus.

4. Multi-Media Learning Project in Core - $3,054

Teacher: Mary Rayden, Stanley

To provide software to this Stanley teacher to develop further her fascinating Maya Quest Expedition on the internet: 1 Prentice Hall Writer’s Solution Package (5 pack) and 1 Voyage of the Mini Complete Multimedia Package (5 pack)
