Postage Stamps

Students created commemorative stamps reflecting trends in our society and our cultural values. Students chose from four themes: the end of the 20th Century, homelessness, equity, or a theme of their own choosing. Stamp design is an unusual art form requiring exacting skill in portraying a subject within small dimensions. Students used a wide variety of effects to arrive at the final design, including special effects, surface texture, opacity, seurat, grainy hard buildup, feathering, lighting, glass distortion, working with color variability, ambient color hue and saturation, highpass radius and drop shadow.
