Frequently Asked Questions about donating on-line

1. I don't have a PayPal account, can I still do this?
   Yes you can! You can use a major credit card of your choice - you do not need a PayPal account in order to pay.
    

2. I have already contributed for the 2007/2008 school year. When should I contribute for the 2008/2009 school year?
   You may contribute at any time; make sure to check the box for your intended school year on the donor form.
    

3. I would rather do monthly payments - can I set this up on-line?
   Yes, just select the "monthly" option instead of one-time payment
    
4. How long do monthly payments last?
   Monthly payments will last for as long as you designate.  Select ten consecutive months, twelve consecutive months, or specify number of months.  OR you can select "Until I say stop!"  The payment will automatically be debited from your credit card every month.
    
5. I am concerned about entering my credit card information on-line. Is this safe?
   We are utilizing PayPal to facilitate payments. And while no system is 100% foolproof, you won’t find another online financial institution that’s better at protecting its customers than PayPal. By utilizing the very latest in secure technology and employing a large team of experts in all areas of online safety, PayPal continues to be a leader in safe online payments around the world. All information is protected by SSL with the highest level commercially available encryption key.
    
6. I already submitted my pledge, but I want to add some extra to help LASF and the Lafayette schools, is this OK?
   Absolutely. One of the reasons we are supporting on-line donations is to make donating easier, both at the traditional annual donating cycles as well as throughout the year as needed.
    
7. Will you still allow for Phone and Mail-in Donations?
   Yes. Please donate in whichever manner is most convenient for you. On-line donations are an additional method in which to donate
    
8. Will I still get a call during the Phone-a-thon if I submit an on-line donation?
   The phone-a-thon takes place late April/early May of each year. If you make your on-line donation prior to April 15, you will not receive a phone call. We make every effort not to call those that have already donated. We apologize in advance if you do receive a call.
    
9. Will my on-line donations be included in the letter I receive from LASF that indicates my total giving for tax purposes, or do I need to track that separately?
   All your donations, whether through the phone-a-thon, mail, or on-line, will be incldued in the summary statement of giving we send out at the beginning of every year.
    
10. How much should I donate?
    While any gift amount is appreciated, LASF requests a contribution of $500 per child from parent donors. Consider making a bigger impact by becoming a Major Donor with a total contribution of $1500 or more.
